As an owner of rooflights, you’re going to open up your property to an amazing new world of light and brightness. But that’s not all. Rooflights provide a wealth of benefits, including:

Better Mood: Who doesn’t love natural light? Not only does it lift your mood, but it also helps boost your productivity and creativity.

Improved Energy Efficiency: When you’ve got all that natural sunlight pouring in, you’re able to keep your house or building cooler without having to run the AC as often. And that means lower energy costs for you.

More Space: With natural light pouring in, you’ll find that your home or building feels a lot bigger. And with the openness of rooflights, it’s easy to bring the outside in and create an expansive feel for any space.

Frequently Asked Questions

you install my flat rooflight?

At this time we do not offer an installation service. We can, however, recommend a contractor near you with experience installing this type of rooflight, and we do include comprehensive installation instructions with every rooflight. You also have the option of finding a contractor on your own, or handling the installation yourself. We would not recommend you install the flat rooflights yourself unless you have plenty of experience performing complex roof work.

Can a flat rooflight be installed anywhere on the roof?

Flat rooflights are extremely versatile but that does not mean they can be installed anywhere. This type of rooflight is intended to be installed on flat roofs (hence the name) or roofs with a maximum pitch of 15 degrees. You can, in theory, install them on more severe pitches but we have other rooflights that are better suited to that.

What are the benefits of flat rooflights?

Flat rooflights do a great job of flooding an interior with light. This, in turn, can help you save energy which, in turn, can help reduce your monthly energy bills. Flat rooflights are a cost-effective way to enhance the energy efficiency of your home while also increasing its kerb appeal.

Are flat rooflights guaranteed?

Yes. Every flat rooflight we sell comes with a manufacturer’s 10-year guarantee on materials and build quality. Just be mindful that you may nullify any guarantee if you install the rooflight yourself.

Are flat rooflights hard to clean?

Most flat rooflights are installed on lower levels of the roof where they are readily available via a ladder. In addition, they are typically installed on flat, or nearly flat sections of the roof. Those two factors mean that cleaning them is a relative breeze compared to some other windows on a house. From the inside, most flat rooflights can be accessed by way of a step ladder. Just be sure someone holds the ladder for you while you are cleaning the rooflight.

Do I need planning permission to install a flat rooflight?

In some cases yes, and in other cases no. Unless the new rooflight protrudes at least 15cm above the established roofline you will not need planning permission. However, if any part of the flat rooflight sticks up above what is currently the highest point on the roof you may need planning permission. In addition, if your home or business is a listed building or located in a conservation area you will almost certainly need to acquire planning permission.
