Frequently Asked Questions
Can these flat rooflights be customised?
It is not possible for us to offer custom sizes or shapes for our flat rooflights. That said, all Mardome Flat Rooflights are made to order, meaning that each one is produced only after we receive and verify your order. With that in mind, you must be absolutely certain about the size and style of flat rooflight you want before you go ahead and place your order because there are no returns or refunds.
Do you offer any options as far as glazing is concerned?
Mardome Flat Rooflights are available with an array of glazing options so that you always wind up with the rooflight that is right for your home and space. For instance, if your roof is exposed to a lot of direct sunlight and you are concerned about overheating your interior space, you can choose our solar control coating which drastically reduces the amount of heat allowed to penetrate the glass. We also offer an easy clean coating that will reduce how often you need to clean the rooflight. And we offer a satin finish that allows light to penetrate but allows you to maintain your privacy. Give us a call to learn about more glazing options.
Do you offer an installation service for flat rooflights?
We ourselves do not offer an installation service for these flat rooflights. However, all of our rooflights come with detailed installation instructions. Whether you are a DIYer installing the rooflights yourself or you plan to have a contractor install them these instructions should be all you need. If, however, you want a little more information feel free to contact our customer service department and make a request. We will do our utmost to provide it for you.
Will I need planning permission to install Mardome rooflights?
That will depend on a number of things. Typically, if a rooflight protrudes above the original plane of the roof, planning permission is required. But it often depends on how far above the roofline the rooflight protrudes. If you have any doubts it’s always better to simply talk to someone at your local authority and ask. That said, if your home is a listed building, or it is located in a conservation area you will most likely need to obtain planning permission before installing any kind of rooflight.
Do you offer a warranty on Mardome Rooflights?
Of course. We stand solidly behind every rooflight or skylight we sell.
