The criteria for determining if planning permission is needed includes the following:
- If the skylight protrudes more than 150mm above the established roof plane you will need planning permission.
- If any part of the new skylight will be higher than the highest point on the existing roof you will need planning permission.
If your home or business is a listed building, or it is located in a conservation area you will need planning permission.
With those criteria in mind, it is possible you will need to obtain planning permission before installing pyramid skylights, simply because of the particulars of their design.
Will any type of roofing material work with pyramid skylights?

We do not currently offer an installation service for the skylights that we sell. We can, however, recommend a contractor to you with experience installing this type of skylight. If you have extensive experience as a do-it-yourselfer you may consider installing the skylights yourself using the installation instructions that come with your skylights as a guide. But we would caution that if you have never done complex roof work before that you leave the installation to a professional contractor.
